Teddy Boys forever!!!
Things began in late 1992 during a PANHANDLE REBS Record Hop at the ”Roberrtz Bur“ in Neuss, Germany. The land was in bad shape those days, as nearly no Teddy Boy bands could be found at all. So five guys, formerly rock'n'rollin' in bands like PETERS PARTY, HONKY TONK REBELS, BIG STRIKE, WASHBOARD BOYS and the GREASERS joined forces to revive Teddy Boy Rock'n'Roll in Germany. During their first sessions the singer left and four aces went on. Inspired by London Teddy Boy Club ”Black Raven“ from now on they called themselves BLACK RAVEN. On the very first Black Raven Gig in Düsseldorf's ”Waters“ famous Sandy Ford of FLYING SAUCERS was among the audience. Which, to be frank, might have been by incident.
Many gigs and tours followed, e.g. at weekenders in Great Yarmouth (as main act), Walton and Blackpool. BLACK RAVEN are very proud to have played with British Teddy Boy legend Mick Nash and his ROCKIN´ DEVILS
Years went by, BLACK RAVEN were the first german Rock'n'Roll band to play in Finland, where some not too nice people stole all their equipment- luckily after the final gig in finnish capital Helsinki. Tours all over Europe were played, for example in Spain, Slovenia and Croatia. In England the ravens heated up houses for Graham Fenton (MATCHBOX) and Sandy Ford (FLYING SAUCERS), in ol' Germany they did for CRAZY CAVAN and FREDDIE "FINGERS" LEE.
