To mark the 50th anniversary of a unique, and highly-collectible 10" LP, El Toro Records brings you the iconic "Janis & Elvis", re-issuing the eight tracks included originally plus a handful of extra bonus tracks from each artist.

One of the rarest and most sought-after record releases from the last half-century of Elvis Presley collectibles, the big ten-incher titled Janis and Elvis was issued through Teal Records, the company who had the local license to issue RCA records in South Africa at the time, and the elusive original now commands figures in excess of $5,000.

Sadly, while this release was in production we learned that Janis had been diagnosed with a terminal illness and she has since died. She will be a sadly-missed figure on the current rock 'n' roll scene, having been an indefatigable and exciting performer throughout her life. R.I.P. Janis.

The Moonlight Cruisers are an LA-based roots rock band highly influenced by Rockabilly and traditional Mexican music, among many other types. Established in 2000, the Cruisers began playing the local Rockabilly scene at backyard parties and small bars. Fronted by crooner and teen heart-throb Tony Pelayo of Flaming Aces and Sires fame, guitarist Al "Whirly-fingers" Martinez, bassist Sergio "Fito" Arroyo, and Aaron "Redburns" Martinez, who compile the Sundown Trio of old, came together for a perfect fit.

Early on, the guys in the Moonlight Cruisers began experimenting with their Rockabilly crowd by doing something entirely unheard-of for a Rockabilly band; mix Cumbias and other traditional Mexican music into their set. Little did they know their love for Rockabilly and Mexican music would be shared by many. Dubbed by some unknown source as "Cumbia Cats", the Cruisers built a fan base of gals and guys who like to shake their buns and watch some high-energy Rockabilly and on-stage antics. Along the way to becoming a premier act in the Rockabilly circuit, the Moonlight Cruisers invented a new sound now labeled Cumbiabilly.

The Cruisers are the greatest new sensation of latino roots Rock and Roll since Los Lobos and with their long-awaited CD out now on El Toro, the Moonlight Cruisers are sure to be playing new places and making new fans muy pronto!

This term --already used in the late 1940s by western swing bandleader Curley Williams-- refers in this case to a one-of-a-kind blend of rockabilly, hillbilly, and western swing that has become Mr. Whiz's trademark. Their music is a perfect mixture of their varied influences -- the rockabilly side of Carl Perkins, the honky tonk style of Hank Williams, the colourful western swing of Bob Wills, the finger-pickin' of Merle Travis, and even the nonchalant, jazzy swing of Fats Waller are but a few examples.

MISSISSIPPI QUEEN is the oldest, longest, truest-to-a-rockabilly-bone drumless trio in Croatia. Founded in late 1989 by Karlo Starcevic and some other hepcats those days, they soon started playing around the Zagreb area - this is not a beer factory, but capitol city -
eventually forming that unique slappin sound provided by Jurica`s bass.
There were a whole lotta recording sessions, and whole bunch of recorded songs put down since 1989, but the real thing came in 2006 with their first official album for the Rhythm Bomb Records, "Did You Say Love?".
Now we're proud to present a brand new album for the Rhythm Bomb.The band is sharper then ever with the new guitar picker Axel Praefcke,and these guys sure deserve their place in a rockabilly heaven!
So let's join them with the "ROCKABILLY HEAVEN BOUND"!!!
