BORN: October 5, 1933, Pocohontas, AR Billy Lee Riley is a rockabilly singer and multi-instrumentalist. An alumni of Sun Records, he was one of the most crazed, unabashed rockers that label had to offer -- in the company of Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins, and Sonny Burgess, that's saying a lot. Proficient at harmonica, guitar, bass, and drums, Riley contributed as a sideman to many a classic Sun session, and his combo the Little Green Men (most notably guitarist Roland Janes and drummer J.M. Van Eaton) in time became the Sun house band. Riley recorded for a number of labels in a variety of styles, especially effective with blues. Though never commercially successful, Riley's Sun recordings of "Flying Saucer Rock 'n' Roll" and "Red Hot" (both covered in wooden renditions by Robert Gordon) remain landmarks of the genre.

For more than 10 years Runnin' Wild is one of the leading bands in the Belgian Rockabilly scene. Started out as a side-project from Domino's members Patrick Ouchène, Big Ben and Kasper Devos, the band soon grew out to be a great Rockabilly band in it's own right, releasing their debut album "Something's Gotta Give" less than a year after their foundation.With 5 full albums on some of the major Rockabilly labels (Rockhouse, El Toro, Part,...), a few singles, and different inclusions on several compilations, Runnin' Wild has proven they are here to stay.

As you listen to this recording done in 1970 in a house with Gene’s buddy Arthur and a couple of friends for an audience I think you’ll get an appreciation of the song writing skills of this natural Austin talent. Mr. Snowden had a very unique way with words, similar to that of Tom T. Hall, Roger Miller, and Hank Williams. His songs could convey humor, pathos, and sadness with his mixing of words and rhymes. The tragedy he experienced in his struggle for musical recognition was there, something I know about, yet, it doesn’t linger for long. He would open up another six pack, get on to a different song and the laughter would explode. To me this versitility and spirit in his music definitely makes Gene Snowden “Austin´s Original Hillbilly Poet” and a great artist.

After 14 rockin' years, five C.D.'s, one 10", and performance´s at the biggest European Festivals like Hemsby (U.K.), Screamin´(SP), Walldorf(D), Rockin' Race(SP), All Aboard(P), the Summer Jamboree(IT), High Rockabilly (SP), Hot Rock Riot(Sw), Car & Rockabilly Festival Landgraaf(NL), and Rockin'Around Turnhout(B) still get crowds crazy with their Rockabilly & Hillbilly Bop sound.
After some line up changes through the years the band decided in 2004 to change a single letter in their name. The band that was formerly known as the “Texabilly Rockets” has changed into the "Texabilly Rockets", but they did not loose even a fragment of there energy, no, it´s quite the reverse. This enhanced line-up now consists of Rui, “Wildcat Shaker” Andrade on Vocals and Upright Bass, Manuel, the “Hillbilly Cat” on Steel Guitar and Acoustic Guitar, Henrik Fontana on the Drums and Untamed A.J. on the Lead Guitar.

At last, an instrumental album to capture the sound that we've all heard for years at the boys live shows - a showcase of one of the top rockin' bands on the scene, the Rotterdam based trio The Ragtime Wranglers. Killer tracks from the sweaty, jiving urgency of "The Manhunt"- smooth, haunting strollin' with "Groovesville", to the melodic and beautifully played "Blue Smoke". The world class reworking of "Low Man on a Totem Pole" is inspired, and is simply the best straight jive track and floor filler to hit the rockin scene since Go Cat Go released "Please Mama Please"!

When you ask their influence and the music they want to play, they all will answer: early Country, Hillbilly, Western Swing, Rockabilly, Blues, Rhythm & Blues, Jazz and everything in between. The Ranch Girls are influenced by early duet-singing, but the Ragtime Wranglers are crazy about instrumentals.
In the Ragtime Wrangler's opinion pop-songs without vocals are a forgotten art form. It has been a while since the charts were filled with instrumentals.  Some favourite artists of the Ragtime Wranglers are: Speedy West & Jimmy Bryant, Merle Travis and Joe Maphis.
The Ragtime Wranglers recorded their first instrumental for the Ranch Girls' premier EP in 1993: Joe Maphis’ "The Rocking Gypsy". This song appeared to be a much requested song and is still in the band’s repertoire. At few of the later Ranch Girls’ recordings more instrumentals appeared and then, in April 1995, a true Ragtime Wranglers solo-product was released on the band's own label "Home Brew Records". The A-side is the second recording of "The Rocking Gypsy", the other side is "Road Stop" by Jimmy Day.

Soon after this release the Ragtime Wranglers caught the eye of various promoters and were lucky to have the opportunity to do a few live-concerts with American musicians: Curtis Gordon and Hardrock Gunter. These successful shows were repeated the following years and even more artists asked for the skills of the Ragtime Wranglers: Sid and Billy King, the Collins Kids, Larry Donn, Marvin Rainwater, Frankie Miller and Jack Earls.

Their first solo CD / LP is called "Groove A Tune". It came out in April 2005 and holds 14 instrumentals, 8 originals and 6 covers, mainly from guitar-players like Merle Travis, Joe Maphis and Jimmy Bryant!
